Where To Find The Fifth Sage TOTK Quest And Location Guide

23 September 2026 | 234

Uncovering the mystery of the Fifth Sage is one of the most rewarding narrative twists in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. While players naturally encounter four regional sages early in the campaign, unlocking the final ally requires exploring hidden ruins and traveling deep into the skies above Hyrule. Following the proper quest sequence ensures you do not miss critical story beats along the way.

Starting the Secret of the Ring Ruins Quest

To begin the journey toward finding the Fifth Sage, Link must first complete the main story quests associated with the four regional temples. Once these tasks are finished, head to Kakariko Village to investigate the mysterious Ring Ruins under Purah's guidance. Speaking with Paya and Tauro in the village unlocks permission to explore the floating ruin, setting the stage for the next clue.

Journeying to Dragonhead Island in the Faron Sky

Inside the ruin, a ancient slab points players toward the Faron region and the thunderstorm-shrouded sky islands above. Navigating through the dense storm clouds leads directly to Dragonhead Island, a location filled with zero-visibility challenges. Reaching the end of this sky island reveals a large door that requires ten heart containers to open safely.

Assembling the Construct in the Depths

Behind the door lies a glowing relic that leads Link straight down into the Tobio's Hollow Chasm within the Depths. Here, you discover the Spirit Temple and receive instructions from Mineru, the Sage of Spirit. To restore her power, Link must visit four surrounding depots to collect construct body parts and assemble her mechanical vessel.

Confronting the Seized Construct and Unlocking Mineru

After successfully assembling the construct, you must navigate through a perilous gloom-covered arena toward the temple's altar. This triggers a boss battle against the Seized Construct, a corrupted machine that tests your ability to block and counter-attack using Zonai devices. Defeating this boss frees Mineru's spirit, permanently granting Link access to her powerful mech companion during exploration.
